The church has invested millions of dollars and three General Conference sessions in an effort to unite the worldwide church on this topic without success. Several Unions and one Division seem determined to follow their own conviction instead of aligning their policies with the rest of the Adventist world.
There have been a long list of never ending studies and discussions in the Adventist media and a plethora of Adventist forums articles followed by hundreds of comments posted by readers interested in solving this doctrinal dilemma.
